NKY SHRM Newsletter - April 2026 Print

Words from the President

Can you believe we are already in April? This year is moving fast. The flowers and trees are only just starting to bloom, and we will be in summer before you know it.

The good news is that we have had a very strong start to the year. Our luncheons in the first quarter had excellent attendance and great topics. I hope April will continue this pattern. This month, we will feature a topic that is new to NKY SHRM but is essential for HR professionals who lead diverse teams. Our speaker will be Samantha Kelly and she will talk about neurodiversity in the workplace. She will help us understand what neurodiversity offers to the workplace and how companies can better support their neurodivergent talent.

Consistent with the theme of the year moving fast, here’s a small reminder about our meeting date this month. It is on April 21, 2026. If you noticed that the meeting in April was a week earlier, you are correct. We pushed the date up one week to avoid a conflict with the HR Collaborative event the following week, since many of our NKY SHRM Board members are proud contributors to that event. I know schedule changes can be hard to navigate but we did not want to make you choose between these great events.

Calling all volunteers! We are looking for volunteers to help out at the
registration table during our chapter meetings. The dates typically fall on the last
Tuesday of the month. This would entail arriving around 11 AM and handing out badges, getting people signed in, selling raffle tickets and being a resource for any questions. If you want to get more involved with NKY SHRM and have a great excuse to meet lots of people while doing an important job, this role is for you. Please email us at [email protected] if you are interested in volunteering with us.
