Description

Creating a mentally healthy workplace goes beyond offering benefits—it requires building a culture where employees feel safe to speak up, share ideas, and be their authentic selves. We will explore the critical role psychological safety plays in supporting mental health at work and how a broadly diverse workforce strengthens that foundation. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of psychological safety, examine common barriers that prevent employees from feeling heard and valued, and learn practical strategies to foster inclusive, supportive environments. This session will provide actionable insights to help create workplaces where all individuals can contribute, thrive, and feel a true sense of belonging.

Learning Objectives

  • Define psychological safety and explain its connection to workplace mental health.
  • Identify how diversity (broadly defined) strengthens psychological safety and team performance.
  • Recognize barriers to psychological safety.
  • Apply practical strategies to foster inclusive, psychologically safe environments.
  • Evaluate current workplace practices and identify 1–2 actionable changes to implement immediately.
