Description
The current SHRM Civility Index score is 48.6, another increase over the last measurement. This measurement gauges the climate of incivility and related behaviors in the US. We've all seen and felt it, and SHRM has quantified it for us. The data shows that U.S. workers have experienced more daily acts of incivility over the last two years. This rise in incivility shows up in our workplaces, impacting our business and culture in many ways. Let's look at what this means, factors contributing toward incivility at work, examples of causative behaviors sometimes we don’t even recognize, and what we can do as HR to help create peaceful change.

Speaker Bio
Andrea is a Senior HR Business Strategist with Clark Schaefer Strategic HR.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in management from NKU, she started her career in executive search and recruitment. After a few promotions and years of managing recruiting, Andrea broadened her experience over the next 23 years by leading all recruiting and college relations, training, and employee relations for a mid-sized marketing firm in Cincinnati. There, she helped to repeatedly earn the #1 Top Workplace Award. As a Sr. HR Business Strategist since 2022 with Clark Schaefer Strategic HR, Andrea partners with clients (and her amazing team) to design and implement custom, tactical and strategic HR and Training solutions from employee and leadership development, succession planning, updating rewards and compensation, to navigating change, conflict, and employee relations challenges. Andrea also has a passion for helping organizations with the changing landscapes with generational workforce shifts and navigating what’s next. She’s published many HR and business articles, often speaks in HR forums, and is requested for training presentations and webinars.
